| CKB Acousti-Balance designers borrowed the
best from the past and integrated today’s most
advanced acoustical knowledge to develop a
mouthpiece with superior tonal properties.
Concave sides from the King mouthpieces of the 1960s, knurled exterior from C.G. Conn mouthpieces of the 1920s and rim/cup sizes from Benge mouthpieces of the 1980s – features from the past combined with the science and technology of the present in one superior design. Acousti-Balance represents an entirely new concept in mouthpiece weight distribution. CKB mouthpieces are machined by precise computer-controlled equipment with the weight and mass balanced between the cup/throat area and the shank. This strategically balanced system results in a highly responsive mouthpiece that is acoustically efficient and well suited to all styles of performance. |

We put the weight where you need it the most! There is a fine line of balance between the weight added to a mouthpiece and the effect it has on the character of the instrument. Conn-Selmer, Inc. defines that line with the CKB series of new "Acousti-Balance" Brass Mouthpieces. The mass of the CKB mouthpiece is distributed evenly between the rim, cup, throat and shank of the mouthpiece. This weight distribution balances the vibration control of the entire mouthpiece, a feature that is missing from most heavy-weight brass mouthpieces.
